I'm a Little Graduate
14 December 2011

It’s that time again, when the kids in Australia are finishing the school year. For Kindergarten and Pre-Primary students it is a very exciting time as they transition to the big school! We celebrated with a graduation ceremony complete with mortar boards! We bought our mortar boards but here is a link from DLTK with a template to make your own.

We began by welcoming the parents and giving a brief rundown of the ceremony. We then introduced our ‘graduates’ to the stage to perform.  First we performed the poem ‘I’m a little star’.

Our Principal then took the stage to give a short speech and hand out the student’s Graduation certificate). The students especially loved getting to shake the principals and receiving their certificates!

This was then followed by the poem 'I'm a little graduate'.

I then spoke to the parents about their child’s portfolio and all the hard work the students have put in over the semester. I then invited each child to take their portfolio and sit with their parents, and show them all the fantastic work they have completed. The students were so proud to show their work and explain it to their parents!

To conclude the ceremony I thanked the parents for their support over the year and reminding them how proud they should be of their child!

Then it was Party Time! All the parents were invited to bring a plate of food and join us for a graduation lunch! What a feast we had!

It was such a great day and thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended!
