Here is a cute way to monitor the bahaviour of all students in your class. It is a clip chart system which involves clipping students up or down the chart relevant to their behaviour.

To set up this system in your class you will need to print out this document, you will also need a long length of card and 1 peg per student. After printing out the document glue the pages in the following order;

Once the chart is up in your class place 1 peg for each student on 'ready to learn'. You may like to write their initials on the peg, or you could assign each student a number if privacy is a concern/issue. Throughout the day the pegs will move according to the behaviour of the students. Pegs can go up and down/ down and up in the same day, in fact this is one of the positive aspects of this behaviour management system - even those students who get off to a bad start can rectify their behaviour and move back up the chart.

Each class can choose to operate the system in their own way, students who reach 'king of the jungle' status may receive a prize, a class cheer or a happy note home. At the moment I am thinking of creating a peg system where each time they reach the top of the chart a star sticker is placed on their peg, 3 stars and they move to the next coloured peg in the system, repeat until they reach the top peg colour.
