Swat it
10 February 2012

We have created these pointers using cheap fly swats from the grocery store. To create your your own set simply draw a square in the middle of your fly say and cut out using a sharp stanley knife. Make the hole on each swat a different size to suit a range of activities. For example a small hole could be used during shared reading to find punctuation, or during print walks to locate letters around the room. A larger hole could be used to identify whole words in books and around the room.

These swats have been around for 5 years and are still going strong! $8 well spent.

Remember keep calm and pretend it's on the lesson plan!
