Create these dinosaur fossils using plaster of paris. Follow the directions on the plaster of paris tub to make the plaster. We added edicol dye to the mixture to add more colour. The plaster of paris was poured into little round trays (we first put down a layer of gladwrap to make it easier to remove the fossil when dry). Students selected their dinosaur of choice and pressed it into the plaster. (Dont leave it in there too long as the plaster sets quite quickly!) While still wet we poked a hole through the top so they would be easy to hang.) Students were amazed at the detail of print that was left in the plaster! |
