As a teacher, you can’t help but feel all the feels when you start to see those Christmas decorations 🎄 appearing throughout the shops at this time of year. On one hand, if you are anything like us here at TT headquarters, it takes all our willpower not to don a Santa hat and croon to Buble as soon as we see that first glittering decoration hanging from the roof at Kmart. On the other hand, these first signs of Christmas are a big, shiny reminder of all that needs to be done in this final stretch of the school year.
Everyone is a bit tired 😴
Admin insists that it is business as usual until 3 pm on the very last day 🤪
The calendar is full of special assemblies, super important meetings, report card deadlines, school events etc etc etc 🤯
That’s where we come in!
Our webby is just bursting with loads of Christmas ideas designed to crank up the joy – and not the stress – in your classroom this festive season.
Read on to discover some of our favourites and click away to be taken straight to them!
This one takes me straight back to being in primary school myself! In the last few weeks of school we would all be presented with a bumper book of Christmas activities and I would be desperate to get it out at any opportunity!
My 1980’s booklet mainly contained colouring-in sheets and cute dot-to-dots, which was great, but it was definitely more of a time filler. Our version of this Christmas must-have is chock full of literacy and numeracy activities sure to keep your students learning and engaged right up until the very end 👊🏼
Each activity is available in a range of ability levels (because differentiation is our jam) and requires ZERO prep. 🙌🏻
As you all know, at Top Teacher, WE LOVE PLAY.
We jump at ANY chance to include play and playfulness in as many of our resources as we can! And, at the end of the year, with a tired class (and teacher 🙃), the more playful our days are, the better!
Over on the webby, we have loads of Christmas Play Trays and a DREAMY Christmas Play Pack just waiting to hit your downloads 📥
There are many ways to boost the Christmas buzz in your classroom at the end of the school year, but one of the most effective is with bright and colourful Christmas displays 🎄
We have SO many options on our webby to turn your classroom into a real-life Christmas wonderland (including our ‘Collaborative Christmas Tree’,our ‘Large Printable Christmas Door Display’ and our interactive ‘Christmas Countdown Display’) but the most downloaded Christmas display that we see popping up in your classrooms year after year is our ‘Light up the Room with Kindness‘ display.
Why not have students write a compliment about someone in your classroom – or have a box of lights prepared, and have students come and get one if they feel someone deserves a compliment during the day.
We have also just added a new ‘Festive Lights’ resource that would also make a beautiful display this Christmas.
Our Christmas Around the World resources are perfect for an end of year HASS investigation for your class. Take your kids on a journey around the world (complete with a learning passport) to learn about different cultures and traditions. This set of resources include:
🎄Powerpoints
🎄Posters
🎄Activities for each country
🎄A passport book with different stamps to show where you have ‘visited’
🎄Comparison activities
Getting crafty in the classroom at Christmas time is another firm favourite in our festive activity musts.
We have such a huge range of ideas ready to go on the webby. We also have some newbies this year that would double as a bright and colourful Christmas display.
Our 3D Ornaments (which include an open-ended writing prompt and some blank spaces for drawing) would look fantastic around your classroom or even on the class Christmas tree 🎄
We have also just added a Gingerbread House triorama ready for your students to create a magical winter wonderland scene, complete with a 3D cottage net and optional decorations. These look great when hung in a series of 4 to create a 360-degree display.

Imagine this scenario. It is almost the end of the year. Assessments are all finished and your reporting is done 🎉
Students are climbing the walls – partly from end of year excitement and partly from the five candy canes they just tore off their Christmas cards and engulfed while you were looking the other way 🙈 You need some fun, quick and easy games and activities to keep everyone engaged until the very last bell!
We know that scenario all too well… and we’ve got you covered.
First up are our click-and-go digital PowerPoints. These are bright and colourful, come in a range of curriculum-aligned themes and are perfect for that moment when you need something engaging STAT!
Next up is our range of print-and-go activities for students that don’t need glitter and glue (not that there is anything wrong with glitter ✨)
These resources are super engaging and require no effort from you at all!
And finally, we have a HUGE range of printable games and learning centers that are guaranteed to amp up the festivities and fun. Here are just a few:
We hope this blog post has given you some ideas and inspiration for your classroom this Christmas. Time to crack out those Santa hats and crank up the Buble! 🙌🏻
