Are you ready? Set? Let’s go! 🥇
💛 Olympic Medal Chain Tracker 💛
Assign each student a country and use the easy-print chain links to track each medal their country wins. Display the links on a bulletin board, strung along windows or across your classroom roof! This resource includes handy differentiated maths task cards that you can use after the Olympics concludes to study the data your students have collected. Explore statistics, fractions, percentages and more! |
💛 Mini Olympics PACKAGE 💛
This comprehensive resource features ten interactive ‘events’ perfect for Early Years to Year 2. Covering topics including sorting, shapes and measurement, as well as literacy and fine motor skills, your students will love completing the hands-on tasks, recording their results and winning the gold medal! This download also includes posters, certificates, recording sheets and medal templates so you can create a truly eye-catching Mini Olympics in your classroom. |
💛 2024 Olympic Medal Tally 💛
Practise recording, counting and totalling tally marks using this simple medal tally template. Featuring options with five countries to a page as well as a blank version to insert the countries of your choice, this table allows students to tally individual gold, silver and bronze medals and then calculate the total. Use individually for students to track their favourite countries, or enlarge to A3 as a whole class tally counter to display in your classroom! |
💛 Legends of the 2024 Olympic Games 💛
Students choose their favourite athlete and research their history, quotes and achievements. Several examples are included, as well as a blank version for any athlete of your choosing. Use the one-page template for a quick, low-prep research task, or expand on the activity using the included information report planning and final copy pages. You could even use this task as a base for an oral presentation! |
💛 Pitch a New Olympic Event 💛In this task, students must research each sport and determine whether or not it is included as an event at the 2024 Games. Then, they need to select one of the sports that is not included and persuasively argue why it deserves to be included in the Games. Templates and lined pages are included to use this task as an engaging persuasive writing assessment. You could expand on this task by conducting an oral debate or having students write formal letters to the Olympic Committee! |
💛 All About the Olympics POWERPOINT 💛Use this digital presentation to explore the history and traditions of the Olympic Games with your students! This informative PowerPoint includes details about the Games’ origins, the opening, closing and medal ceremonies, the use of the Olympic Torch, popular included events and more. Use to incite whole class discussion, as part of an introduction into another Olympic-themed task or as a reference point for an information report. |
💛 Olympic Torch Stained Glass Craftivity 💛This low-prep craftivity is the perfect upper years task to create eye-catching classroom displays! Students use cut pieces of coloured cellophane to assemble a stained glass window reminiscent of Parisian buildings. You could also use thinned acrylic paint or coloured PVA glue on plastic sleeves to create a similar effect. Once complete, display on classroom windows and let the rainbow light shine on through! |
💛 2024 Olympic Wind Sock Craftivity 💛This simple task can be completed in so many different ways! It’s perfect for fast finishers or as a relief teacher cover activity. Students use the art material of their choice to decorate the wind sock before cutting and taping it into a cylinder shape. Attach a wind sock to a stick to allow students to fly them like kites, or attach multiples to a long broomstick or pole for display. Choose a display area with lots of windflow for maximum effect! |
💛 Olympics Paper Plate Medal Craftivity 💛Use the writing template to explore students’ favourite Olympic sports and which events they think they would win gold in. Why do they believe they could win gold? What skills or practise would they need? Then, use paper plates and ribbons to assemble their gold medals and decorate using paints, markers or glitter. Students can wear their gold medals (they make a fantastic take-home gift!) or display them in the classroom. |
