Description
If your students are learning about 2D Shapes, then it’s time to get hunting.
In 2D Shapes Scavenger Hunt, students will be given the opportunity to hunt for real-world examples of 2D shapes. This could be in the classroom, or you could allow students to move around the school (this will be different for each setting, but please be mindful of student safety and supervision when setting your hunting zone). Students will aim to find three real-world examples of each shape during the scavenger hunt.
Students will need to record the real-world 2D shapes that they find. Students can write or draw what they find. There are different versions of the recording sheet to cater for this.
Students could use an iPad to take photos of their examples if available.
A ‘Regular versus Irregular 2D Shapes’ recording sheet is also included for students that might be exploring this concept.
This activity can be completed individually, in pairs or a small group. If students are working in a pair or small group, they could share a recording sheet.
Happy 2D shape hunting!
