3D Real Life Object Match LET’S HIKE
Description
Students correctly answer questions to reach the top of the mountain. How far will they make it up the mountain? As they progress higher up the mountain, the scenery will change—from grassy foothills to snowy peaks. At the end, a polaroid is taken of how far they made it up the mountain with a score. This is a cooperative game where if there is more than one player, they must work together to answer the questions correctly to make it to the top of the mountain as a team.
In this version, students examine real-life objects and match them to their corresponding 3D shapes. From ice cream cones and dice to tennis balls and boxes, this activity helps students connect geometric concepts with everyday items—reinforcing shape vocabulary and building visual reasoning skills.
Let’s Hike – 3D Real Life Object Match is perfect for Foundation to Year 2 students learning to identify 3D objects and their real-world connections. Use it during your geometry unit, as part of rotations, or for collaborative group play using the QR code.
