Description

This writing resource asks students to prepare an Acknowledgement of Country to suit your location and circumstance. This activity is perfectly suited for NAIDOC Week, Reconciliation Week or National Sorry Day, and your completed acknowledgements can be used for presentations throughout the year. We’ve included a self-assessment checklist for students to use to ensure they’ve included all the important elements of an Acknowledgement of Country. You can use this checklist as a guide if you wish to use this task as an assessment. In this download you will also receive a template for a Welcome to Country for any First Nations Australian students in your classroom, as well as colour and black & white templates for a poster on which your class can craft an Acknowledgement together. This poster matches perfectly with our NAIDOC Week Activities.Want to create a fun craft to display with this task? Try our How The Birds Got Their Colours NAIDOC Collaborative Craftivity!
