Description
Students need to stay in between the lines/stay on the dotted line and make it to the other side of the trail. They need to trace the letters or say the word and its first sound when they get to the other side. There are three different templates for each letter, with the lines varying in tracing difficulty.
Tracing and copying lines and letters is a purposeful fine motor task that fosters control and coordination. Holding a pencil engages the small muscles in the hand, fingers, and wrist, strengthening the muscles required for tasks like writing, drawing, cutting, and manipulating objects. This task provides the opportunity for students to develop their hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness as they consider the size, shape and position of each line and letter that they trace.
Also available in a PowerPoint version that can be completed on touchscreen devices.
