Place the animal cards (in their cut up pieces) in the middle of the table. Allow students to freely make each of the puzzles prior to starting the game. Once they have become familiar with the cards and the animals, jumble them up and explains that they need to make these animals on their game board.
Students take turns turning over a number card. They gather the corresponding number of animal card pieces trying to build an animal and stick them on their board.
The aim of the game is to make as many animals as possible. Once the animals have been made, encourage students to count the syllables and segment the word whilst pointing and tapping to each part of the image.
