This barrier game comes in two versions involving plain or coloured blocks. The coloured block version has 16 task cards and the plain block version has 12. The task cards progress from easy to hard.
They require a listener, a speaker, a set of either coloured or plain rectangular prism blocks and a barrier such as a large book that will stand up. The barrier is placed between the two players so that each cannot see what the other is doing. The speaker then uses one of the block construction task cards to describe to the listener how to construct their blocks in the same structure. They will use language that describes colours and position of the blocks. When completed, the barrier is removed and the speaker and listener can confirm if it was completed accurately.
