Description

This fun, hands-on resource provides students with the opportunity to practise subitising to 10.

The aim of the game is for students to represent numbers by ‘popping bubbles’ on their game board. Students will roll 10 small play dough balls and place them on their board. They will flip a subitising card and represent it by squishing play dough balls. The total number of ‘popped bubbles’ should be as shown on the card. We have even included a handy recording sheet if you would like your students to record their subitised numbers.

This activity is suitable for individual work in Foundation and the Early Years and would make a great addition to small group rotations or table activities. This resource includes:

  1. Detailed instructions
  2. 6 game boards (in high and low colour options)
  3. 6 sets of subitising cards (each set includes visual representations of numbers, including fingers, dominoes, dice, tally marks, blocks, ten frames, buttons and teddies)
  4. A handy recording sheet.

In addition to developing early numeracy skills, this game provides students the opportunity to practise fine motor skills as they make and squish their play dough ‘bubbles’!
