This worksheet blends financial mathematics with economics and business in HASS. Students take on the scenario of being a Year 5 teacher and choose different options for their needs and wants. Each option varies in cost and students must choose options that satisfy the 50/30/20 rule. 50% of their monthly income going towards needs, 30% towards wants and 20% to long-term savings.
Have students complete this task as a whole class or use it as a small group activity.
