Caterpillar Counting Assessment
Description
This task is a great way to gauge your students' understanding of numbers 1-5 and 1-10.
Use it to assess their ability to identify the numbers out of sequence, order the numbers and create collections to match the numbers.
Two templates are included; one for numbers 1-5 and one for numbers 1-10. Cut out the number circles and arrange in a random order. Students select the numbers in order and add them to their caterpillar. Then, they glue or draw collections of objects onto the circles to match the number (eg. three toothpicks on the number 3, or four spots on the number 4). Use the handy checklist to assess student understanding.
