Use this resource at the completion of a unit of work within the Earth and Space Science strand, looking in particular at the changes of observable features from day to night, or from one weather type to another.
The task asks students to observe an image of a local environment and list the features they can see. They then consider how the same environment would change at night, and list any additional features or changes that might appear. An alternate page at the end of the task asks students a similar question with regards to changing weather types.
The resource also allows teachers an opportunity to make notes of students' understanding of specific vocabulary and knowledge that they have acquired throughout the unit of work, to meet the Achievement Standard.
