Description

Are your students learning about cause and effect? Support them in their understanding of cause and effect in this engaging Changing Play Dough activity.

 

This hands-on task will provide students with the opportunity develop their fine motor skills as they build upon their understanding of the relationship between cause and effect. Students will use the activity mats and cards to manipulate play dough in different ways. As they work, we recommend encouraging students to verbalise how their actions cause the play dough to change its appearance. This resource includes:

  1. Detailed Instructions
  2. Play Dough Mats (three options included to suit the needs of your class)
  3. Picture Prompt Cards
  4. Optional Recording Sheet.
 

In addition to the printable resource, students will also need access to play dough. We recommend providing cutting tools and rolling pins.
