Description

Who is inside the chest?

Students create clues regarding the challenges faced and the qualities of a fictional character on the outside of this challenge chest template.

Students choose a character that undergoes a change or encounters a problem that forces them to adapt or overcome the change. They will answer the following prompts on the outside of the template before decorating, assembling, illustrating their character and adding the hidden name reveal:

  • a ‘Who am I?’ sentence
  • challenges faced by the character
  • how they achieved success
  • supporters
  • traits
  • appearance
  • three words to describe the character.

This activity can be used at the end of a text or character study, or when exploring texts that have examples of change as part of a Health unit.

Print on thick cardstock for extra durability and ease when assembling.

This resource is part of the Years 3 & 4 Identities and Change Unit.
