Character Crowns is an engaging, hands-on craft activity that will see students create a purposeful crown to wear when discussing the main character from a focus text.
Using art and craft materials (crayons, paint, buttons, stickers, pom poms, feathers, stickers or rhinestones), students will create a colourful crown that will inspire them to make connections and inferences, summarise and answer questions based on the character’s point of view.
This low-preparation craft activity is sure to be a winner in your classroom, providing a memorable opportunity for developing comprehension and fine motor skills. We recommend printing the crown and the headband strap templates onto yellow cardstock.
Your students will feel like royalty as they dazzle passers-by with their Character Crowns!
