Students complete a character profile listing various descriptions and qualities of their chosen fictional character.

This template has students complete a character study on a chosen character by illustrating them in the centre and noting down the character’s:

• name
• physical description
• three main traits
• allies
• adversaries
• problems faced
• their resolution.

An alternate version of the template replaces the problems faced section with:

• choices
• actions.

Distribute the template to students when starting a new book or a shared reading as a class. They can complete the template as they learn more about the chosen character. Alternatively, students can complete the profile about a character they already know.

Print a copy of the chosen template for each student.
