Your students can apply a range of comprehension skills through this fun mapping task based on Charlotte’s Web by E. B. White.

Snippets of setting information about the Zuckerman’s farm is provided throughout the book. Your students need to piece this together to form a map showing the location of buildings and other areas on the farm. They also need to explain why they made their location decisions based on information from the book.

Three versions of the worksheet are available. To provide more support, some include the names of the buildings and areas to be mapped, labelled and explained. When you have decided which version of the worksheet to give to which students, you can print the number of copies that you need and start the task. A helpful answer sheet is also provided, although answers will vary.
