This experiment assessment has students performing a melting race between three types of solids.

In small groups students will measure the results, create a graph and then reflect on the fairness of the test, whether their hypothesis was accurate and any impacts on how the results were measured.

A template for measuring the melt of each object is included in the resource. It is suggested to place in a plastic sleeve or under a waterproof transparent cover when performing the experiment.

A completed rubric and blank version are included for assessing student understanding of the concept as well as the inquiry skills demonstrated.
