Roll up to the Carnival of Chemistry, a place where your students can choose, plan and conduct their own science investigation to demonstrate their skills and knowledge.

The resource includes an instructions page which outlines the criteria for the science fair. It also provides some scaffolded investigation sheets and comprehensive assessment rubrics.

This activity is ideal to complete at the end of a chemistry unit on reversible and irreversible changes. You might also find the Science Fair Ideas Worksheet useful to use when students are planning their investigation.

Note that pages 2-4 of this resource are designed to be printed on A3 paper so that they can be displayed as posters during the science fair. The rest of the pages can be printed on A4 paper. The rubrics focus on the Science Australian Curriculum but also have an optional page that relates to the English Australian Curriculum presentation skills and a blank page.

During the Carnival of Chemistry science fair, you might like to invite other classes from the school, admin staff and/or parents and carers.
