Your students will love creating their own colourful Christmas tree made from paper loops and decorated with a tree topper and colourful baubles. This adorable craft can be made as a 3D standing tree or glued to a sheet of backing paper and displayed on a window or wall.

Using the included templates, each student will develop their fine motor skills as they cut and glue strips of green paper to create a collection of loops. Each loop will be glued to a trunk made from a cylinder or strip of brown cardstock, creating an eye-catching layered effect. The Christmas trees can be topped with a star or angel template and ‘baubles’ can be finger-painted on the ends of each loop. Alternatively, the tree can be decorated with other craft items, such as sequins or small pom poms! To create a snowy scene, simply add cotton wool balls around the base of the tree trunk.

In addition to the templates above, to complete the craft, students will require access to craft glue. Whilst not essential, we also recommend that they have access to the following craft items: paint, cotton balls, pom poms, coloured tissue paper and sequins.

Printing the trunk templates on thick cardstock is recommended. Please note that younger students may need support with cutting the tree toppers.
