This assessment allows you to assess both your students' cutting skills and 2D shape identification in the one work sample.

For best results, enlarge print onto A3 paper and print shapes onto coloured cardstock. Students will cut out the shapes and assemble their Christmas tree. Ask them to identify each shape they've used and describe its properties.

Options are included with the marking rubric on a separate sheet, as well as simplified versions with the tree already completed, a one-page template with a tree to replicate, and blank shapes for students to use to get creative and make their own tree.
