You may like to have the students complete their picture and writing on separate paper and then add it to the assessment page.

This sheet includes a developmental writing scale to place your students on. This gives parents a good indication of where they have come from and where they are going in regards to their writing. Alternatively, you can cut the assessment off the bottom of the page and keep it as a personal reference.
