This 8-lesson unit plan is an inquiry process that takes students through the differences between “rules” and “laws” and their importance (AC9HS4K07), the role of local government (AC9HS4K08) and the diversity of cultural, religious and/or social groups (AC9HS4K09). They will have the opportunity to develop questions, locate, collect, and organise information and evaluate information and data from various sources. They will use this to develop evidence-based conclusions, proposed actions or responses to issues or challenges and use criteria to assess the possible effects and present explanations and findings in a variety of methods.
