Colour mixing is such a fun experiment and exploration for children, young and old.

This resource contains a fun and hands on mixing mat to explore how different colours change when mixed together. The reusable mixing mat can be placed in a write and wipe sleeve or large baggie to keep it dry for reuse.

Add a squirt of paint to each paint pot on the mixing mat, and have students use a paintbrush (or their fingers) to add these colours together in the spot provided.

Options for recording the experience have been provided. You can use the printable recording sheet to create a ‘print’ of the colour mix, or record colour combinations on the colouring in sheet.

This resource would be a great addition to our Hardware Store Play Pack as part of the paint mixing department.
