Description

This set of 16 task cards contains scenarios where someone is being treated unfairly based on a stereotype.

Students are tasked with determining why an unfair decision has been made and suggest how the situation should have been handled. They will combat each card’s stereotype by responding on a recording sheet. Encourage students to remain objective when identifying the stereotypes.

This activity can be used as a whole class activity by placing the cards around the room and allowing pairs of students to work on a card before rotating to the next in the sequence. Repeat until students have responded to all the cards. Alternatively, utilise these task cards in small groups or as prompts for students to recreate the scenario as a short drama activity.

Print the task cards and cover page on thick cardstock and keep in a storage container for easy reuse.

This resource is part of the Years 3 & 4 Identities and Change Unit.
