Celebrate Mother’s Day with this adorable card! Students will enjoy making a comfy robe-themed Mother’s Day card for their mum, a mother figure or a special person in their life!

 

How to Complete

This low-prep craft activity includes two options to suit the needs of your class. Choose whether you want your students to make a heart-themed robe card or print the blank templates for students to create their own robe designs! In addition to the printable elements, this cute card only requires ribbon and craft glue!  

1. Students will cut out and assemble their robe card using the included templates.
2. They can then compose their Mother’s Day message on a lined message template. Please note, we have included 12mm and 9mm options. This can be cut out and glued to the inside of the card. Ensure the heart is visible when the card is closed.
3. To secure the robe, students can glue a length of ribbon to the back of the card, wrap it around and tie a bow at the front.

 

Additional Tips

1. If the card templates were printed on white cardstock, you might like students to add colour with paint or edicol dye.
2. To create a fun interactive element, use split pins to attach the sleeves to the back of the card.
3. As an alternative to tying a length of ribbon around the card, hole punch two holes on the front of the card, thread ribbon through and tie a bow to secure.
4. If students wish to decorate their robe card, they can add pom poms, cotton wool or sequins along the edges of the front of the robe and the bottoms of the sleeves and pockets.
