Activities & Games, Resource

Description

This resource is perfect for students who are learning to compare the capacity of different liquid-holding vessels.

Students will compare and sort the object image cards onto their sorting mats from the object that holds the least amount to the object that holds the most amount. Students will draw the objects onto their recording sheets. Each mat has a set of cards so students can swap sets and play again and again!

This resource comes with:

  1. Detailed instructions
  2. Sorting mats (in high and low colour options)
  3. Object image cards
  4. Recording sheet.

The sorting mats can be used in many ways; for example, use real containers and objects for your students to sort in place of the cards. You could fill them with water and transfer the water to each container for students to visually see the differing amounts of water (not filling one container or overfilling another etc).

Young learners may benefit from enlarging this resource to A3.
