Compare pairs of fractions and determine whether to use a greater-than, less-than or equals sign to signify the relationship correctly.

Students compare the two fractions on each of the 24 task cards and write the correct comparison symbol on their recording sheet.

Set this as a whole class activity with students moving around the room to each task card or have students complete the cards in a small group setting. Alternatively, select a few task cards as warm-up activities when beginning lessons on comparing fractions.
