Description
Construct this interactive Crystal Ball Prediction Slider craft to support your students in learning to use the comprehension strategy of predicting and summarising. This craft has been designed to be used with any fiction text that students may listen to, view or read in the classroom.
Students will use drawings or words to record their predictions of what might happen in a text before reading. After reading, they will record their summaries of the text.
Once students have completed their predictions and summaries, they can assemble the templates to create a crystal ball themed slider. With a gentle pull of the prediction tab, their summary of the text will be revealed!
Multiple versions are provided to differentiate this activity, including blank templates for drawing and 18—and 24-mm lined templates for writing.
We recommend enlarging the templates to A3 to provide additional space for young students to write and draw their predictions and summaries.
