Your students can have fun measuring the capacity of containers using informal units with this hands-on activity.

Five different containers will be needed for the task, as well as some sand, cups and spoons for measuring. The activity starts with your students drawing each container and then measuring and recording the capacities. They then need to answer some question prompts.

Three differentiated versions of the worksheets are available. For support, cloze options and a word bank are provided on the first and second versions. The third version of the worksheet does not include these helpful hints.
