Description

This craft is ideal for use in Early Years or Foundation when students learn about descriptive language, specifically adjectives to describe different textures, such as smooth, bumpy, soft or rough.

Students will add objects to a teddy bear’s tummy, such as craft or nature items. After touching the tummy and feeling the object's texture, students will add a describing word (or words) to the sentence prompt.

This adorable resource includes:

  1. Detailed instructions with an example
  2. Portrait and Landscape ‘Print and Go’ worksheet templates
  3. Portrait and Landscape ‘Cut and Paste’ craft templates.

Please note that the portrait templates include one teddy per page, and the landscape templates include two teddies per page. If completing the landscape option, we recommend that your students use different textures, such as cotton wool and corrugated cardboard.

We recommend enlarging the templates to A3. Having an adult pre-cut the teddy and sentence templates will save time. Printing the backing template on coloured cardstock will give the craft a pop of colour!
