Description

A set of four diorama planning templates to use when beginning the design process.

This resource is a great way to start off the design process when beginning a diorama project for any topic. Each template includes space for students to note:

  • title of the diorama
  • materials needed
  • features they wish to include
  • a draft layout of the diorama.

There are multiple versions of the template to best suit the type of diorama you are wanting your students to create. The typical shoebox layout is included as well as some top-down layouts in the form of a square, rectangle and hexagon.

Have students complete the diorama planning template before they begin construction to see their initial ideas and compare to the outcome. Students can reflect on what worked well and what things they would look to improve in the future.

Print a copy of the template for each student or group.

This resource is part of our Year 4 Geography Unit Plan.
