Our Division Problem Solving resource provides students with the opportunity to demonstrate their understanding of division concepts, with and without remainders. Its versatility makes it the perfect task for a Maths activity or an assessment piece!

To complete the task, students are given a division problem to glue on their Division Problem Solving Mat or Division Problem Solving worksheet. The Division Problem Solving Mats are designed for students to solve one problem at a time, while the Division Problem Solving worksheets allow students to solve 2 problems per page. We have included problems that are phrased in a variety of ways, and you have the option to choose problems that will result in a remainder or a whole number based on your students’ individual needs.

To demonstrate their understanding of the problem, students are provided with multiple ways to solve the problem and show their working out, including:

• Fact family
• Written strategy (we have provided a checklist of options)
• Diagram
• Word problem

To cater for the needs of your students, we have included an Editable Division Problem Card template where you can write your own division problems! In addition, we have included generic mat and worksheet templates that can be used with any style of division problem.
