Description

Join the hunt as your class collects eggs and solves halving and doubling problems!

This PowerPoint game focuses on mastering doubling as increasing a quantity by adding the same amount to itself and halving as dividing a quantity into two equal parts. Your class can choose between the doubling or halving game in this egg-citing Easter Egg Adventure game.

In the doubling game, the class must click on the number they wish to make. They then need to fill the pink circles with an even amount of eggs to visually represent (in addition form) the given doubling problem. In the halving game, the class must click on the number to be halved and then visually represent the halving problem on the purple box. But watch out! Some of the numbers can’t be created by doubling or halving.

You may also use this activity as a springboard to introduce the multiplication and division symbols as representations of doubling and halving.
