Description
- Exploring Size - This investigation will help students understand and compare the size of the sun and moon, addressing misconceptions that the sun and moon are the same sizes.
- The Sun as a Source of Light – Another investigation into light and shadows. As students observe the movement and change in the shape of shadows, they will begin to make connections between night and day.
- Exploring Movement – A cut and paste activity for students to show their understanding of the Earth and moon’s movement.
- Making a sundial – This hands-on activity will show how ancient civilisations used the movement of the sun to tell time. Students will make connections to modern clocks and the sun.
- Indigenous perspectives – Look at how Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples understood phenomena in the sky and passed this knowledge on through cultural stories.
