Description
These engaging worksheets allow your students to practise their editing skills while applying maths knowledge.
The three sets of differentiated worksheets feature five texts each that have mistakes throughout. Your students need to identify and edit the mistakes while recording the total number for each text. They then put the numbers into calculations that involve decimals and square numbers to find out the corresponding letter for the secret code.
As there are five texts, your students could complete one per day and reveal the code at the end of the week. The Editing Extraordinaire Poster is ideal to use alongside this resource. Your students can have a go at using the symbols when completing the worksheets. This will help them to understand feedback that they receive on their own writing and it will prepare them to provide peer editing.
This resource includes helpful answer sheets marked up with the editing symbols. You can simply print the first two worksheet pages for your students and start the activity.Additional information
