Figurative Language Bingo
Description
This Figurative Language Bingo game is the perfect way to engage your small groups during workstation rotations or morning warm ups.
Students choose a card at random and read the sentence to the group. They must decide what figurative language device the sentence uses and cover that device on their game board using a counter or marker. The first student to cover four in a row horizontally, vertically or diagonally calls ‘bingo’ and wins the game.
This resource features examples of metaphors, similes, idioms, hyperbole, imagery and personification.
Print the colour or black & white printable options on thick cardstock for easy reuse. Game boards print 2 to a page and task cards print 8 to a page. Enlarge to A3 for younger learners.
This game makes a great follow-up to our Figurative Language Hunt activity!
