Can you find the treasure before the other team?

This alternative twist on Battleships has students using grid coordinates to locate hidden treasure chests.

Two teams take turns identifying the grid coordinates they wish to investigate. If successful they will uncover coins or a treasure chests. Coins always lead to a chest, so there is one nearby!

The first team to uncover and collect the five chests hidden on the island is the winner!

Use this as a whole class activity with students taking turns being the coordinate giver and interpreter or in small groups with two students playing against each other.

The positions of the chests and can be edited. Be sure to select all the overlapping pieces for each coin and chest sequence and reposition, paying close attention to lining up the grid lines.
