Your students will discover one of the ways First Nations Australians are interconnected with Country and Place in this research activity, where they will identify Australian cities and towns with traditional place names.Students will use this research table to find the state/territory and traditional land owners of towns with names in First Nations Australian language and discover their meanings.This EDITABLE resource includes a ready-to-go worksheet with included place names, an answer key and a blank editable copy. Use the editable copy to add your own mix of place names or allow students to research their own. This research task can be completed individually, in pairs or in a small group setting.We highly recommend contacting local elders or representatives in your area for advice, support and resources during this activity.This activity is part of our Year 3 Geography Unit Plan.
