Are you looking for a fun and hands-on way for your students to locate numbers on a number chart? Our Five in a Line: Hundreds Chart activity is just what you have been looking for! This activity will provide your students with the opportunity to put their place value knowledge into action!

Students will create and locate two-digit numbers on the hundreds chart with the goal of covering or colouring five numbers in a row. To create their numbers, they will roll two dice and decide which digit will represent the tens and ones (this creates an element of strategy which makes the task more exciting!). Students can then place a counter on the corresponding number on their board. Alternatively, they can colour the number on their recording sheet. This resource includes:

In addition to the printable resources, students will need access to dice, counters or blocks and colouring pencils or crayons.

Top Teacher Tips:

1. To make room for the counters we suggest the game boards be enlarged to A3.
2. We recommend printing on thick card for durability.
