Description
This science of reading-aligned resource is perfect for beginning readers in Foundation or the Early Years. Use to help develop students’ phonemic awareness skills: blending and segmenting CVC words.
The resource comes with:
- 6 different game boards (6 x full colour and 6 x low colour). Each game board has:
- A ‘flip’ section for the pile of game cards.
- A ‘play it’ section to segment the word into individual sounds (Elkonin box).
- A grid with matching CVC words.
- Game cards with images of different CVC words (map, mop, pan etc).
- Teacher Reference Page, highlighting what the words and pictures are.

There are three versions of this game, to help differentiate for the varying needs of students in your class. Each set is cumulative and is an extension of the sounds:
