Description

This science of reading-aligned resource will help develop students’ phonemic awareness skills: blending, segmenting and writing CVC words.

To play the game, each student needs a game board (in a write and wipe sleeve), game cards, sound cards and a whiteboard marker. Students will flip a game card onto the ‘Flip’ section, segment the word into its sounds in the ‘Play’ section (Elkonin boxes), use the sound cards to build the word in the ‘Build’ section and write the word with a whiteboard marker in the ‘Write’ section.

The resource comes in high and low colour versions and includes:

  1. Instructions
  2. Game boards (x6) with matching game cards
  3. Sound cards
  4. Teacher Reference Pages
 

Please note that you will need whiteboard markers and write and wipe sleeves.

There are three versions of this game to help differentiate for the varying needs of students in your class. Each set is cumulative and is an extension of the sounds:
