Description
Cut and fold paper strips into different representations of fractions. Fractions included in the resource are:
- halves
- quarters
- eighths
- fifths
- tenths
- thirds
- sixths.
Students cut along the dashed lines to create a series of paper strips attached to the left side of the page. Students can experiment with ways of folding the strips to find the most effective methods, i.e. to make quarters, fold in half and then half again.
There are three options to choose from to help with differentiation; the first has blank strips, the second has the dividing lines, and the third is a colour version.
Print one page per student and have them paste the page into a workbook when completed.Additional information
