Fox: Vivid Vocabulary
Description
Our Fox: Vivid Vocabulary activity is based on the picture book, Fox by Australian author Margaret Wild. It is the perfect activity to expand your students’ word knowledge. The science of reading has proven that teaching vocabulary concepts in conjunction with meaningful texts helps improve students’ reading and writing.
To complete this task, students will locate and record examples of vivid vocabulary from the text that describe a main character’s appearance, thoughts, feelings, actions and personality traits. They will use these words to assist them in writing a description of the character.
Please be aware that while this versatile resource has been designed to be used alongside our PowerPoint presentation based on the picture book, Fox, we have also included a blank version which can be used with a text of your choice!Additional information
