Description

With this game design worksheet, you can engage your students in an exciting exploration of friction.

The worksheet provides a structured framework for students to investigate friction while enhancing their questioning and predicting science inquiry skills.

Suggested games for creation are simplified versions of air hockey, pinball and soccer player flicking. An example investigation question could be ‘Why does an air hockey puck glide so fast across the game table when it is pushed?’ and an example prediction is ‘I predict that an air hockey puck will glide across a game table when pushed if both surfaces are made of smooth materials. This is because smooth materials create less friction than rough materials.’

With two versions of the worksheet available, you can choose the level of support needed for your students and print the number of each copy accordingly. Whether providing extra guidance or encouraging independent exploration, the worksheets empower students to get creative and apply their problem-solving skills.

Gather your game-building equipment and embark on this fun friction experience.
