Description
With these engaging worksheets, your students can practise using friendly numbers to estimate the answers to addition calculations.
Firstly, the estimations must be completed by rounding the first number in each calculation up or down to the nearest friendly ten. The worksheets also include some word problems to solve. After that, the circled numbers are put into a code. The code reveals descriptions of an emoji. Your students must use the clues to draw the correct emoji to complete the task.
Three differentiated versions of the worksheet are available. The first worksheet includes two-digit by one-digit calculations. The second worksheet has two-digit by two-digit calculations, and the third has three-digit by two-digit.
When you have decided which version of the worksheet to give to students, you can print out the number of copies you need and start the maths fun.
